G-Star Raw Footwear presents Spring / Summer 2008
G-Star Raw Footwear introduces it’s first ever Spring / Summer Collection for Men and Women in 2008. The brand generated excitement with the launch of the Fall / Winter 2007 Collection and anticipation is high for the first Summer story.Overland Shoes design team worked closely with G-Star’s designers to translate the Raw Chic feeling into a new season collection. The attention to detail and high quality materials mixed with G-Star fashion elements has produced a unique identity for Spring / Summer 2008. The focus is on perfecting each piece, reflecting G-Star’s philosophy of ‘Just the Product’.
MEN’S
A collection of Goodyear Welted footwear, the boots and shoes take their inspiration from familiar military footwear but are given G-Star identity with a unique mix of materials and detailing.
For Summer G-Star adds battle drill fabric with high grade leather – some styles with complete battle drill uppers, some with battle drill and leather mix, and other with suede uppers. This gives the boots a lighter weight feel for the Summer.
Colours switch to Dune, Light Grey, and Dark Brown to reflect the warmer Summer tones in G-Star’s Collection pallet.
UTILITY
With more simple uppers and subtle detailing the Utility range has a softer military / urban flavour. Familiar shapes mixing Goodyear Welted and Blaked constructions. Unique G-Star detailing of leather straps, webbing and buckles give it a fashion feel.
For Summer, Sandals are introduced for the first time in the Utility range and PT Sport range.
In the Utility range, sandals are based upon a classic design with high quality leather uppers with G-Star rivets, and an ergonomic leather and cork footbed.
NIGHT
Night is a range of traditional shoes updated with G-Star details and made to the highest quality. Classic Oxford and Gibson patterns are given a fresh Summer feel with a mix of all over battle drill uppers, and battle drill with leather contrasts.
These are all Goodyear Welted constructions but using a latex and rubber mix outsole to give a flexible and supple feel to the sole.
Colours are in White, Grey, Black and Brown Battle Drill.
PT SPORT
Made in a unique G-Star style, these classic sports-casual shoes look modern and fresh, with design references from the clothing collection.
The best-selling Military boot pattern has been given a rubber outsole for a sport feel. White leather and suede mix give it a Summer pallet.
A new low-profile cup sole adds a retro fashion feel to the range. A sophisticated pallet on nylon and suede mix uppers give them a smart finish – flashes of colour give accents.
The best-selling vulcanised style is given a fresh retro look with a tighter ankle line – perfect for the skinny jean. Classic flight chevron canvas for uppers is mixed with a unique padded ankle design.
Classic Deck shoes are given a fashion twist with printed sections of G-Star t-shirt designs and unique G-Star rivets.
The PT Sport range of sandals has two main styles. First with a leather footbed and overstraps with designs taken from the G-Star accessories collections. Second the entry level sandal with an innovative construction designed in Italy using a patented Extra Light material and a dual compound construction which gives extra comfort and durability. G-Star belt material and leather straps are used for cross over and toe post designs.
WOMEN’S
The Military line features Uppers made from Dip-dyed Italian Leather, suede and G-Star Battle Drill. Pumps, Ankle Boots, and Full Height boots feature leather straps and unique G-Star rivets. Drill fabric styles, and Drill mixed with Leather or Suede are new for Summer in Brown, Grey, White and Navy.
Heals are mid-height leather covered and soles are a unique G-Star design of leather with rubber injection.
MILITARY
Classic Military boots are given the G-Star identity with unique detailing of rivets, straps and buckles, and flight chevron canvas. The boots are of Goodyear Welted construction. Uppers are given a Summer feel with White Canvas, Natural Battle Drill, and Panna Suede and White Battle Drill mix.
PT SPORT
The hot new look for Summer in G-Star PT Sport is the vulcanised pump. Unique, the G-Star vulcanised sole is combined with feminine chic uppers in Ripstop fabric and strong summer colours – Lemonade, Chalk, White, Lava. Closures are either in G-Star webbing and buckles, straps, or simple laces.
The hit from last season was the vulcanised canvas shoe which is given a Summer twist with new colours – Dune and Metal – and is now made in Battle Drill. Another new look is from Washed Battle Drill in red, navy, combat and castor – the whole shoe, including the laces are drip dyed at the end of the construction process.
These vulcanised canvas styles are given a retro look with ankle hugging high tops with pad detailing.
Sandals come with a high quality leather footbed and overstraps with a durable rubber sole. Detailing is stylish and simple with G-Star rivets or buckles.
Classic Deck shoes are given a fashion twist with printed sections of G-Star t-shirt designs and unique G-Star Rivets.
